Loving God has nothing to do with religion. It has to do with spiritual intimacy and loving of humanity. If you can not feel compassion for the visible, you cannot dare know the invisible!

An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.

Happiness
is a choice. It is a choice that we must
make every time we open our eyes.
Happiness is the choice to smile even in the most undeserving circumstances. It is the choice to find beauty in a world
that is seemingly twisted and demented.
Happiness is the choice to laugh-- head back, toes spread, shoulders
bouncing and mouth stretched wide even when the world seems to be frowning at
you. Happiness is the choice to dry
flowing tears of sorry and replace them with a hardy smile full ...

1 Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is always before me.
4 Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you are proved right when you speak
and justified when you judge.
5 Surely I was sinful at birth,
sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
6 Surely you desire truth in the inner p... Continue reading...

The Christ
I imagine him
golden brown
sun painted skin
body strong
lean and slightly thin
long muscles formed from vigorous walking
thighs thick from climbing mountains
mountains made by God
and mountains imagined by man
his hands
long calloused fingers impregnated by miracles
power to heal
to resurrect
to free a soul full of regret
dust sprinkled feet
softly implanted in sturdy sandals
constantly embracing the street
round ebony curls crown his head
like a silken animal hanging on for dear life
a full beard ad... Continue reading...

Bring me to you Oh Christ
I have been crucified by sin
Hands nailed bloody by worldly men
Brutally whipped with lack of love for myself and anyone else
Crowned with thorns deflating my arrogant ego
Forcing my haughty stance to knees bowed low
Lord Oh Lord
My feet have been spiked by a guilty conscious
Paining me when I did wrong knowing what’s right
My side has been pierced with hellish fears so fierce
I am weak and falling into oblivion
Oh Messiah!
Child of mighty God
Lift me higher
Do not break my leg... Continue reading...

There she was:
virgin
innocent
pure as unpolluted rain.
Gracefully educating the old world with peace –
an eternal relief of pain.
Wrapping the old laws in her arms;
encouraging them with the new teachings
of a forgiving God’s reign.
“Love! Love!” she called out.
“The sacrifice was for you!”
She was holy.
She was virtuous.
She was true.
Dressed in the whole armor of God.
Spreading her love like the ripples
of a disturbed sea.
She broadened her horizons and
into foreign lands she brought her minis... Continue reading...

Holiness means to be set apart from the world and to be sacred as God is sacred. It essentially tells us to not to be of the world although we live in the world. We can not physically separate ourselves from the world because we live in it. We are affected by it. We have been shaped by it and help shape it. To live in the world and not let the world live in us means that we much put on the whole armor of God in order to fight against the material realm. We must walk in the spirit at all times...
